Thumpqua - Rabbits

Thumpqua is the title of our rabbit sanctuary.  Thumpqua is the word for rabbit in Spokane Indian language.

Here is our Bunny Barn in the winter! Click on the Bunny Barn above to see the inside!

River's Wish Animal Sanctuary received 50 rabbits from Best Friends Animal Society. The rabbits came from a huge rescue in Reno, Nevada. Over 1,000 rabbits were rescued!

We've recently received two feral female rabbits that were caught in the city. They each had a litter within two days of being here. To the left are a few pictures of the baby bunnies and one of the mothers.
These two rabbits were also caught running loose in the city.
Thistle was caught running loose in the city.
This cute spotted nose bunny was caught running loose in the city.
Janis and Leon are a pair of lionhead siblings. Our former owner could no longer care for us. We were too cool for her. So we’re rockin' at Thumpqua until we find a new gig. We were born in the summer of 2007. Come visit and watch how fun cool we are.
We are Harley the Holland Lop and Alice the Netherland dwarf/lionhead cross. We are a bonded pair of neutered boy and girl. We came from animal control. They didn’t have much background information on us, but who needs background information when you have our looks and personality!
Hey, I'm Eddy and I'm a cute young guy. I came from animal control and was born in the spring of 2008. I have gorgeous grey eyes. If only I had a mirror to stare at, I would see how cute I really am!
Iris was a stray who showed up on someone's porch with a popcorn ball! Alpine was found in a lumber yard and was also a stray. Stray bunnies are often those who are released when their person no longer wants to care for them. It's a pretty sad way to treat a bunny, or anyone for that matter. These girls chose each other at River's Wish when Iris kept jumping into Alpine's pen. Persistence paid off and now they are great friends.
Charley and Cookie are brothers who were born to a rescued mom on March 10, 2008.
We are sweet, curious and very bonded.
Cassy was born to a rescued mom and Trina was rescued from being neglected in a garage. Aren't they a fancy couple!
I am sweet boy Jasper. I came from a family who lost their home and so I lost mine. Now I am at River's Wish looking for a special home to call my own. I have excellent potty training.
Hi, I’m Toby and I’m a neutered Silver Marten who was
left at SCRAPS in July 2008.
No background information was left on me, which I find to be very rude, don’t you?
However, I can tell you this that I am very pretty and sweet. I do get startled by pesky Cisco the dog. I know he means no harm, but his goofiness is immature, I think.

Olivia is being syringe fed because she had been attacked by a cat.  She was brought here to be rehabilitated. Olivia has bonded to a special needs boy rabbit and is now a permanent resident at Thumpqua.
