Leaders for Ethics, Animals, & The Planet
LEAP (Leaders for Ethics, Animals, and the Planet) is a revolutionary humane education program designed specifically for middle school students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th who love animals. Hosted by farmed animal sanctuaries across the nation, LEAP combines interactive curriculum modules with hands-on learning activities, leadership training, and real-world skill development. LEAP aims to prepare the next generation of changemakers to tackle the challenges of animal cruelty, climate change, food deserts, and habitat loss, and encourages them to devise solutions for a more compassionate, sustainable food system.
During the school year for approximately 4 hours per month, students will meet at River's Wish to care for rescued animals and participate in workshops and humane education curriculum.
LEAP 2025-2026 Schedule: LEAPers will meet on the first and third Saturday of each month from 1pm to 3pm at River's Wish Animal Sanctuary in Spokane, WA.
Our first session will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025.
2025-2026 applications are available now! Applications close on September 26th, 2025
